316 Stainless Steel Ball

Product introduction

316 stainless steel balls have exceptional corrosion resistance, thanks to their higher nickel and molybdenum content. Developed to resist attack by sulphuric, phosphoric and acetic acid compounds; these stainless steel balls are used extensively in applications involving photographic chemicals, inks, rayon, rubber, textile bleaches, dye stuffs and high temperature equipment. 316 stainless steel balls are also FDA approved for medical grade material.

Applications: Special bearings, pumps and valves, sprayers, and aerosols. Used in photographic equipment, medical equipment, couplings, ink cartridges, jewelry, etc., and used in food, paper, chemical, rubber, military, textile, and other industries.

Corrosion resistance: good corrosion resistance to organic compounds and a variety of strong acids such as acetic acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, and seawater. They suffer pitting and crack corrosion when temperatures exceed 60°C. They do not resist contact with hydrochloric acid, ferric chloride, or magnesium chloride. They have higher corrosion resistance than AISI 304 balls and are provided in the passivated condition.
